2021.10.22 01:30 BeautySprout Anyone else feel this way about the virus?
I'm diagnosed with RA and lupus. I have taken a more cautious approach when it comes to how I handle Covid and being around others. Despite being vaccinated I'm still very particular about how and when I'm around people. I live in a high transmission area and I do know 6 different healthy people who are vaccinated and spent time without masks around unvaccinated people who don't wear masks and didnt really take any caution at all and they were break through cases. Some of them got really sick and were in bad shape. Thankfully they made it through but that made me feel more confident in my decision to be as particular as I am.
With the holidays coming around I have family members that are pushing for me to gather and I'm not ready for that. The lupus diagnosis is more recent and I've found immunosuppressive treatment that is showing some improvement in terms of lupus and it looks like I might have to add another immunosuppressant to help control the RA more, I'm already on two meds. People don't seem to understand why I'm hesitant to gather with others who aren't vaccinated and who aren't that cautious since I am vaccinated. While I know I didn't have the same response as those who are not on multiple immunosuppressants my biggest concern isn't dying. It's catching the virus and that taking away the relief I'm finally experiencing after trying to get some for two years. The lupus and RA have really progressed in the last two years and even though it's small (still in the first month of lupus treatment) the improvements I'm experiencing are very promising. I finally have hope that I will get better. It's very hard for people in my life who don't have RA or lupus to understand this and understand why I'm still being cautious so I've been thinking about this a lot recently. Having this on my mind made me curious if other people have a similar concern about the virus and how it may impact their RA/other illnesses.

2021.10.22 01:30 Classic-Asparagus Can’t tell if I’m genuinely not cis or just faking (AFAB)
This probably sounds bad and like I’m a transtrender because I first started questioning my gender kind of as a joke. Two people I knew including a close friend had recently come out as trans, and as a result, I started thinking about gender a little bit and the unlikely situation that I might also be trans but didn’t know it yet. At the time I was very secure in my gender identity as female, loved to be labeled as a woman, and was repulsed by pronouns other than she/her. However, I think some part of me wanted to be nonbinary, maybe because I wanted to be different or special, I don’t know. So I started to consider labels like demigirl because it was still feminine and I felt nothing like a man. However, I still felt cis at the time and those labels didn’t really fit.
Then, I cut my hair and everything changed. While I had only felt random urges to crossdress (while still knowing I was a woman internally) before, having my hair cut felt like my gender identity had been wiped away and replaced with a vague sense of masculinity. For the first time in my life, I didn’t want to be called she/her and wanted other pronouns like he/him and they/them used on me. Though my gender returned back to normal within a few days, ever since then I’ve experienced brief spikes every few weeks where I feel intensely genderless or masculine.
I’m very confused why this is happening and whether I’m actually not cis or if I confused myself by thinking about it too hard. Thanks for the help!

2021.10.22 01:30 NYG_Doomer FATPHOBIA IS THE CRITICAL ISSUE OF OUR TIME
If you’re fatphobic you’re a reactionary.
If you’re fatphobic you’re a racist.
If you’re fatphobic you’re a sexist.
If you’re fatphobic you’re anti-LGBT.
If you’re fatphobic you’re a FASCIST.
Sit down and grab some tea. Since the beginning of humanity, our bodies have been conditioned to consume as many calories as possible. All of your vital organs require lots of sugars and fats to perform at a high level. Therefore, eating vast amounts of calories is normal. You need those nutrients to be able survive this harsh world created by capitalists. Moreover, bigger bodies are healthier!!! Yep!!! In order to survive harsh climates (brought about by climate change), you need more fat reserves!!! Did you know, in the Middle Ages, fat bodies were more likely to survive childbirth?!! Did you know in some African & Asian cultures, being big is seen as beautiful??! So don’t let these fataphobic reactionaries get you down. For those who are still skeptical, I recommend reading fat empowerment & fat liberation literature by fat authors. Support your local fat businesses. Support your fat neighbor. Support your fat family members. Read the studies which show that fatness is not linked to being unhealthy. Educate yourself sweetie, IT IS YOUR JOB NOT MINE. So remember, eat that cake, devour those cookies and enjoy that fast food. Give your body and brain what it wants. Fat power!!!
