2021.12.09 01:00 Swordkirby9999 Would it be worth getting a Graphic Slate for my Android Tablet?

And by Graphic Slate, I mean those Graphic Tablets that do not have a built in screen.
I know I can get one from Huion or XP-Pen that's compatible with most Android devices, but would you say it's worth it?
In my case, I've currently got a 9th Gen Fire HD 10, and I basically use it as a digital sketchbook. Doodle down the idea in Medibang Paint, save it to the cloud, and refine later on my PC.
I got the Sonarpen a couple months ago because of its pressure sensitivity, but it doesn't work too good with my Fire tablet. (Hence why I'm asking this question.)

2021.12.09 01:00 CaptGunpowder A Description of Neoliberalism by Noam Chomsky

Transcript from a recent livestream with Chomsky and James Kelman, where he gives this brief overview of Neoliberalism, and how it has affected the working class, or the non-wealthy in general. Bear with the structure, as this is very much Chomsky responding to a question on the fly:
"Let me start with one of the comments in reaction to what you just said, which I was thinking about too; it's from Alicia, which says, "to have empathy is to recognize your neighbour as your family, as your equal, that's why it's so threatening to the state". That's actually a virtual definition of what we've been living through for the last 50 years, called (technically) Neoliberalism. Starts with Reagan and Thatcher, Thatcher saying (denying this), she says, "there is no society, there is only you and your self interest. Forget everything else, you alone will survive somehow in the ravages of the market, and there is no solidarity". And she made that very explicit: not just your neighbour, your neighbour metaphorically. Recall that her first act about 40 years ago was to move to destroy labour unions, that means: to destroy solidarity, to destroy the opportunity for people to get together, to work together, with- to get ideas together, to understand the world together, and to act with solidarity, to achieve the common good; that's the essence of unions internationally, incidentally.

So the first thing to do was destroy that, throw people out as atomized individuals, with no society. Actually, Thatcher probably didn't know it, but she was paraphrasing Marx, who was in the 19th century, mid-19th century, [condemning] the autocrats of Europe for trying to turn the population into what he called a "sack of potatoes": people who are isolated, atomized, don't know their neighbours, don't talk to their neighbours, but somehow are alone facing concentrated power. That was the ideal, that was what so-called Neoliberalism has worked towards. She was- it was mirrored in the United States with different words but the same ideology, and the same consequences: Ronald Reagan's inaugural address, 1981, the central line, repeated ever since, is "government is the problem, not the solution". What does that mean? Government is the one general institution which is somewhat responsive to the population, not very much because it's under too much external control from concentrated power, but at least has some degree of accountability. Well, if you take decisions away from government, they don't disappear, they move somewhere else: to the centers of unaccountable, private power. That's where decisions rest, so that's the ideal, what the real definition of Neoliberalism is: "brutal, ruthless, class war; place power in the centers of unaccountable institutions".
And we know how they operate, how they're supposed to operate. This was told [sic] right at the same time by Milton Friedman, the economic guru of Neoliberalism, that corporations (that's concentrated economic power) have one responsibility: to enrich themselves, and nothing else. To become a corporation, to become incorporated, is a gift from the public. You're given all kind of advantages, but no responsibility comes with that, just "enrich yourself and your management". Now, there's an addendum to Thatcher's prescription "no society", which she certainly knew: for the rich and powerful there's plenty of society. There's a very rich and complex society that works for them. One, in fact, is the government. When Reagan said "government is the problem", he (or whoever wrote his speeches for him) knew very well that that was nonsense.
What they meant is, "we want a rich and powerful interventionist government which will work in our interest, not in the interests of the general public, not for the common good. So for us there's rich society: the government, chambers of commerce, trade associations, think tanks, all sorts of rich, complex societies that assist us in carrying out the class war; and you, the victims, the population, you're a sack of potatoes, you don't have any society. You don't have unions, you don't talk to each other, you're just thrown out in the market somehow to survive."
If we want to know what's happening, we can go back to Edinburgh, Glasgow, in the mid-18th century. One of my kind of "fantasies" is to be a space-traveller, and go back to what I can imagine to be my favourite place: a coffee-house in Edinburgh, where I could intrude, listen in on a conversation between Adam Smith and David Hume, both of whom believed that sympathy with others is the core of our nature. Actually, in one of his two uses of the word[s] "Invisible Hand", only two relevant ones in his writing, Adam Smith argued that if all the wealth of the societies (wealth meant land in those days), or if one rich landowner appropriated all the land for himself, it really wouldn't matter that much, because the society would be egalitarian, because his sympathy with others would lead him to distribute it in an egalitarian manner, because sympathy with others is fundamental to our nature. He also understood some other things. In another part of that conversation I'd like to have heard- he wrote in 1776 that the masters of mankind (his words), who are in his day the merchants and manufacturers of England, are the principle architects of government policy. They control the government, and they make sure that their own interests are peculiarly attended to, no matter how grievous the fate of others under their attack.
That's Thatcher, Reagan, Neoliberalism."

2021.12.09 01:00 Legitimate_Ad_7294 I feel like I'm the only one who liked fallout 4 as much as I did.

I want to preface this by saying all of this is just my opinion. Nothing I say here is any more right or wrong than anything you believe in. I just want to get this off my chest.
With that out of the way, I feel like I'm the only one who really liked this game. Mean don't get me wrong it got good reviews, won a few awards, and it's still played to this day. It's just when I hear people praise this game it's always for its gameplay or how great it is with mods. Personally I never really did care for modding. The only ones I downloaded for this game were years after I bought it. Both were just added some minor changes I.E. bug fixes and such and I quickly uninstalled them. As for gameplay while it was pretty engaging I found myself getting bored after completing all the missions.
The thing I really loved about this game is ironically enough what everyone else hates. That's the story. I truly did love it and was surprised that people hated it. That's why I say I'm the only one who really liked it.
I loved Shaun as a character. I was rewatching some of his dialogue earlier and I see why. It seemed all he ever really wanted was to know his dad/mom. See what He/She was like. I know a lot of people give him a hard time with the fact he just didn't take you to the Institute right away. But listening to what he had to say it sounded like he was just trying to test you. He wanted to know if you would go looking for him. He also said it was no coincidence you and Kellog crossed paths and it even sounded like he never really liked the guy anyway. So I figured it was just his way of giving you and himself some revenge.
I know he's relatively cold and calculated but again that's what I loved about him. He was a kid who never got to know his parents. He grew up being brainwashed by the people who kidnapped him and in his old age discovered one of his parents was still alive. He then released him to see what he was like. Welcomed him with open arms before appointing him as his replacement despite the objections of his advisers. He even built a robot and despite his own belief that synths weren't people still turned him over to you almost to fulfill his lifelong fantasy to meet and know his parent.
I also loved the game-ending. I genuinely had to think about which faction to side with. I didn't want to betray my son. I loved him and he seemed to love me in his own way. He even entrusted me with his organization. I know they were cruel. Replacing people for power and abducting them for research. But I did believe they wanted to help the commonwealth in their own twisted way. My best way of describing them was benevolent tyrants. A group of people who wanted to help the commonwealth just had an evil way of accomplishing that goal. I guess I was wrong as no one else seemed to have that experience. I just saw it as a moral dilemma. Do you value progress or freedom more?
Anyhow the faction I ended up going with was the Railroad. Now don't get me wrong. I don't hate the Railroad. I just felt really guilty siding with them. Liam committed suicide because he was forced to destroy his home and they never asked me to pull the evacuation alarm. That made Preston pissed at me so he was locked as a companion. There were a couple of other things I probably forgot but overall, I just regretted siding with the Rail Road. they seemed to care more about machines than men. They claimed to care about equality but in the end, were willing to do anything just to free synths. Perhaps I was wrong in that assessment. But that's how I felt.
I also loved the whole Synth plotline. I thought it was well executed. It brought up that whole philosophical debate of what does it mean to be human. Recently I even came up with the idea that they were supposed to be an allegory for the Red Scare. The Institute is the Soviet Union and the synths being the supposed communist spies lurking in the shadows. Fitting for a game that takes place in a world where the 50s never really ended.
Again all of this is just my opinion. I'm starting to realize I was wrong about all this. It seems most people never cared for the main plot and just wanted to wander around the wasteland. I guess that's fine. I just got Fallout because I loved the lore behind it. I loved the story, the characters, and the writing. So the fact that that seems to be Fallout 4s weaker points makes me sad. Especially since that's why I fell in love with the game in the first place.
I know you'll argue who cares what other people think. Just love what you love and fuck all the haters. That's a good attitude and one I had for a while. Keep in mind it's not like I was always googling opposing opinions constantly. It was just me experiencing the community over time both in real life and online that made me realize that everyone else hates this game's story. Like literally everyone. That saddens me. Again it's why I loved it.
This is all subjective. It all really doesn't matter. I just miss this game. I miss the days when I would look up theory videos and moral studies trying to determine which faction was good for the commonwealth. I fell like the only one who felt all this.

2021.12.09 01:00 benjackal What is your thoughts on the ultimate whoop

So, started in this hobby and loving every minute of it. Running an iFlight protek35 and green goblin 6s and I am having a blast.
As I am just starting out I am doing my most exciting tricks in the sim and with the whoop (Emax Tinyhawk S), after watching the rotor riot challenges video I am thinking having a whoop will always be something worth doing.
So far I have played with the tinyhawk freestyle 2, was amazing but I seem to crash a little to much for having no prop guards, and the tinyhawk S, which is just amazing for my skill level at this time.
So experienced folks, if you were going to build or buy your opinion on the ultimate outdooindoor combo whoop, what would it be. Or is it already on the market?
