2022.01.27 19:58 Fine_Account_3097 I can't purchase games from the oculus store anymore.
Every time I try to purchase a game from the oculus store I always get the response, "sorry, the card was declined" ( or something like that) but, I checked and there is over $100 on my card. Does anyone know what's happening here?

2022.01.27 19:58 JGibbons151 Hut Champs Question
I redeemed my 2000 points yesterday but it is still telling me that I’m not qualified. How do I fix this so I can play some champs games? I’ve tried backing out. I also have points in my inbox that it won’t allow me to use because I’ve already cashed out too many.

2022.01.27 19:58 Low-Budget9166 Sending Atom from Coinbase to ledger
It’s been over two hours now and the tx is still pending according to Coinbase. I can still see the Atom in my Coinbase account so maybe that’s good?
Any ideas as to why it’s taking so long. It the past tx’s have only taken a few minutes. Thanks.

2022.01.27 19:58 davidw "Naturally occurring" interval type workout?
If I do a race or big group ride on Zwift, I usually end up going pretty hard the whole time. That's fine sometimes. On the opposite end, if I just ride in one of the spaces, it ends up being kind of random.
If I go outdoors, I have specific rides I can do that are more long steady climb efforts, or flat, or rolly. The latter can be a lot of fun in that everyone punches it over the hill and then waits and rolls for a bit.
I don't know if this makes sense, but I'm looking for a way to do something like that without some super boring "structured" workout. The idea is to do some hard efforts without the whole ride being "on".

2022.01.27 19:58 LuvIsOurResistance What card do get after a year of credit?
I am new in the US and I am about to get over the year of credit history milestone, which seems to be important to several major issuers. What card should I get after I do so?
Currently I mostly use my Jasper card as it has 4.5% flat cashback because of promotions (can elaborate in pm, but not the point) - but the promotions will end in a couple of months and then this card will become less attractive (1%).

2022.01.27 19:58 SpiritualState01 Urgently Need Help Pricing Freelance Articles
I'm a writer with an MSc from University College London in Policy who has over 5 years of experience doing grant writing and other forms of development writing (newsletters, appeals, data reports, so on). I've also published in PopMatters (long-form cultural and media analysis pieces) and Counterpunch (academic book review about neoliberalism and Trump's presidency).
I've been offered a gig by a friend to do some writing for an organization that is a B2B (business to business) for retailers. They want two 900-1000 word articles per week. It will be on subjects such as how inflation is affecting consumer preferences. I have not written on this subject before per se, but I have considerable transferrable skills plus the education granted by a Masters in policy/politics from an elite university, complete with an overseas perspective (I'm American). This position will later involve more writing and/or a research project/report. However, it is also intended to become a full-time position by early Q2, so those later projects may be a part of a full-time gig (but I've learned not to assume such things).
Is $250 per article too much? Too little? It is an awkward spot because while I'm obviously a career writer, I'm not sure how to approach things when it is technically a mostly new subject I will be writing on (from a professional perspective).
If this is not the place to ask this kind of question, please direct me to a sub or website which is!

2022.01.27 19:58 Mummelpuffin The weirdest instance of data collection I've ever seen
I recognize that the internet literally runs on data collection. Nothing's free, that's the (immoral) price.
But I'm also not the sort of person who thinks everyone's phones are listening to all their conversations, however much my father is convinced that's the case. Some paranoid nerd would have figured out if those mics were constantly sending recorded speech to language recognition servers 24/7, and the bandwidth used would be totally unsustainable. There's a million reasons for the "coincidences" people think they notice.
But yesterday, I bought I set of dice online. Of course I'd been looking stuff up, I never just buy anything without searching around, so I'd expect to start getting ads for dice n' things.
I did not expect my dad to start getting ads for D&D dice on his Facebook account. I don't even have a Facebook account. What the hell?

2022.01.27 19:58 aehartis [Contest] Y’all…It’s National Chocolate Cake Day!
Flash Contest! Surprise…it’s Chocolate Cake Day and in honor I’d love to gift someone a sweet treat from their wish list, but….I’d like your help, too. Please 🥺 Contest will end tonight after kids go to bed approx. 9 pm est.
We are throwing my daughter a 9 3/4 birthday party and I’d love ideas for a 🦉 Harry Potter 🪄 themed night OR if that’s not your thing could you suggest a nice low carb treat or recipe for me?
Rules 1. Have something sweet on your list (doesn’t have to be chocolate cake) 😬 2. Use “chocolate frog” for randomizer 3. Can you either suggest a great Harry Potter themed food or decor idea OR a nice low carb/keto treat for me?
It’s random, I know…but I could use some help on both fronts. 🙂 I really appreciate it, guys! Good luck!

2022.01.27 19:58 binten10 Interview Tips
Hi everyone. With interview season underway, I thought I’d make a post to help those who were looking for ways to navigate through interview season. I interviewed at six schools, majority in Ontario, and learned a few things that I hope may resonate with any of you reading this.
Good Practice vs. Bad Practice
I believe this is huge. Don’t be scared to start practicing right away. Get your feet wet. The only good practice comes when you put yourself on the spot and try answering practice questions yourself under close-to-real conditions. What do I mean? Don’t look at a mock question and think it’s easy. Don’t go halfway through an answer and then stop because you’re having trouble. In fact, it’s good to power through; this means you’re learning and improvising, something you must get used to. Don’t make yourself believe you’re practicing by reading other people’s answers, memorizing random news artifacts, reading a 100th top 10 tips guide etc. Practice with whoever you can, whenever you can, through whatever means you can. Of course, it’s preferable to prepare with medical students, but do so with other applicants you know and even family. Don’t try answering things in your head! Articulate the words, make sure you get used to the flow so that you sound eloquent on interview day.
Don’t be a Pessimist
It’s easy to look at the numbers or the odds of getting into a school then feeling overwhelmed. You may hear that interviews are a lottery. Yes, no matter what you do, there will 100% be an element of luck – how your interviewers were feeling, were they tired, bored ... hungry? That shouldn’t put you down. Make yourself work harder so that you can maximize the control you have over your future, no matter what your post-interview odds are.
Make Time for Wellness
Hours spent sitting at your desk does not correlate with increased odds of interview success. Take an hour or two every day to mentally reset after you’ve spent most of your time talking and thinking. Watch a TV show, talk to your family and have fun. I promise you, this is something you will thank yourself for, especially since interview season is long and it gets really easy to burn out in the home stretch.
Be Confident and NEVER PANIC
Never panic. Not every question will look as fluffy as the classic cookie cutter mock questions you may see on some 99 Interview Questions list. You may be hit with a prompt that seems to never end, or a question that is a disguise for 5 questions. Practice these types of questions in advance or even make them on your own. Remember, the point is to make people who didn’t expect this to panic. But not you, since now you know. Look into the webcam, be assertive, be professional, and give out a genuinely good vibe.
Forget about School
If you have 2 or more interviews, prioritize preparations for your interviews over any midterm, assignment, participation project etc. In an ideal world, you have friends around you to help alleviate your school workload, allowing you to prep more. If not, be efficient, find ways to cut down your workload and whatever’s on your plate. If you’re neurotic, don’t be neurotic. If you’re studying for a random midterm that’s not worth much, you’re preparing more for the next cycle than the one you’re currently in.. You worked years to get this interview and there’s no guarantee that’ll ever happen again, as seen with how much more cut throat each cycle is becoming. You got this opportunity, now hang tight.
Feel free to pm if you have any questions.
